Your “Mundane” Matters
Today has been such a full day! I’m finally getting a chance to sit down, nourish my body, and relax a bit before hitting the next “shift” of the evening as I like to call them.
Today has been a day of juggling kids and organizing the house, while also preparing for our first summer road trip.
It’s been so long since I’ve been able to write a blog post!
Growing up I used to love to journal, express my thoughts, and learn to do so through reading regularly. Fast forward to life as a Wife, Mama, and Entrepreneur now, things absolutely look different as to where my time gets to go.
But here we are, and thankful you are too.
While doing all of my organizing today I was listening to business podcasts, as I normally do while completing house work, and heard some really good, yet simple, takeaways that are important to remember in entrepreneurship.
One of the main ones was when Mattie James said “your mundane [things in your life], is consistency to others.”
The context around this quote was that as business owners when we are creating content to share on social media, many of us think that sharing the same things daily is “boring” or not interesting to others. When in reality, that is furthest from the truth. I mean how many of us follow accounts and just watch people clean?
Showing up consistently on social platforms translates that you are “here” and your business is too. It shows you think about your community enough to share something for them to consume. Because at the end of the day, we all know we could be doing something else!
Of course, having a strategy behind content is a plus, when it comes to sharing little glimpses of our day, whether it be in a story/status or b-roll on a video behind tips for our niche, the simple routines we have daily, the mundane, is noticed and valued.
If you share daily you making a cup of tea in the morning, although to you it may seem pointless, to others it gives them a since of familiarity with you, it builds their trust in you. It makes them feel like they know you. And in the long run, people like to buy from people they know and trust.
So in short, don’t feel like your life is boring or basic, so much so that you keep from letting people know what it’s like to be in your world.
If you’re a Mama like me, sharing glimpses of your life as a Mama with all the roles you fill, says a lot about you. One of the main things it shows is that you’re determined. Despite ALLLL the things you need to do in your life, you’re still aiming to serve others and provide the result that you promise them.
Remember, “your mundane [things in your life], is consistency to others!”
Until Next Time,
Amanda
